Why PHV Hire?
If you're new to the private hire industry and need a vehicle to get started, we're here to help. Equally, if your own PHV car is out of action and you need to get back on the road quickly, we've got you covered.
How does PHV Vehicle Hire work?
Our licensing authority-approved PHV vehicles are available for hire on a rolling basis, with a minimum rental term of 8 weeks.
I am interested... am I eligible?
PHV licence driver must be:
- Minimum age of 25 (max 65)
– Good level of English
– Maximum 6 points on your licence
– Maximum 2 fault accidents
– No major convictions such as an IN10
– Hold a PHV licence and registered private hire operator
What do I need to bring with to get started?
You will the following documentation:
– Deposit & first week’s rent
– Full UK driver licence
– National insurance number
– PHV licence (original) & badge
– Proof of address (within the last 3 months and address must match your driving license)
What is the deposit?
We require £300.00 deposit, which is refundable upon returning the vehicle. Additionally, we require the first week's rent upfront.
What is the minimum rental contract?
Minimum rental contract is 8 weeks. After that, you can return the car at any point with one week’s notice.
Is insurance included?
No, private hire insurance is not included with our hire vehicles. Our company is committed to supporting drivers in the long term and keeping them on the road. We encourage drivers to take out their own insurance to build their no-claim bonus. This helps drivers establish their insurance record, making it easier for them to buy their own vehicle and lower future insurance premiums.
So... what is included in relation to vehicle maintenance?
The following benefits are all included in the weekly vehicle hire:
Unlimited mileage
Comprehensive servicing, covering oil change, oil filter, air filter, and pollen filter
Vehicle tax, MOT, PHV MOT, and PHV Licence Plate Renewal
Replacement of brake pads and disks
24/7 roadside assistance and recovery
Assigned dedicated account manager
Provision of a replacement vehicle in the event of an accident
Please note that drivers are responsible for covering the costs of tyre punctures and accidental damage.

What is a driving assessment?
As part of our onboarding and vehicle handover procedure, you'll be required to undergo a driving assessment with us. This process not only helps prevent misunderstandings and disputes but also establishes a clear record of the vehicle's condition prior to handover. Our aim is to ensure that you feel comfortable with your vehicle and are familiar with its safety features and functions, ensuring the best possible experience for both you and your passengers.
In the event that a PHV driver's performance falls below our acceptable standards, you may be asked to return at the discretion of the driving assessor.
